The Artist's Journey

The main subject of my artwork is teenage angst. Other elements tend to vary in my work but the concept of teenage angst remains consistent. That being said, in terms of voice and vision, I'm still struggling with it as I tried to make my art in the vain of a graphic novel, only to fail at that.
My point of view are the characters showing emotionless expressions or express "happiness", as their true emotions are internal and are left with a choice of pulling up a facade.
The purpose of my drawings is that I want my art to have a sense of both escapism and a bit of nostalgia in it, hence why I take influences from teen shows and films, graphic novels and even anime.
For style, my art style is mostly influenced by both comic book art and art styles found in anime and manga, especially comic book creator Annie Wu.
As for time, I currently have one drawing done with another drawing in progress in addition to some rough drafts and character designs. I plan on spending an hour or 30 minutes a day to to work on them. Even if it's not much, every single minute counts and that with proper time management.
