This semester, I decided to continue working with the concept of angst, however, rather than create artwork depicting traits associated with angst like anxiety and despair, I decided to do the opposite and incorporate the idea of angst with escapism. Escapism is the tendency to seek distraction from unpleasant realities. This idea is conveyed through five different landscape pieces, different places where one seeks to escape from anxiety. Each piece consists of saturated, flat colors which helps makes the piece more detailed and dream-like.
