The poem, Paradise Lost by John Milton sounds familiar, though I am not familiar with the work of Phillip Pullman. After reading the article, I realized that the piece was more than just a simple analysis on the poem, but rather what he learned from reading it. What Pullman discussed in his article was the impact the poem had in terms of storytelling, but also being able to understand the true meaning of a piece of work, whether it's literature or art. What caught my attention was how Pullman mentioned that he utilized sound to understand the context of Paradise Lost. I was confused at first until he mentioned how he read the poem out loud, which helped him understand the poem a little more. Furthermore, the article was quite a complex read, but it points out the significance of storytelling. Storytelling is not same as presenting a lecture, it's suppose to excite, enchant and inspire people whether it's a poem or a piece of artwork.
