These are the 2 drawings that were based off of the rabbit hole scene in Alice in Wonderland. Granted, Alice in Wonderland is not a folktale but I couldn't help but Instead of falling down into Wonderland, these drawings show 2 different female characters falling into a void of uncertainty as they recall their pasts. Both drawings incorporates elements of escapism, teen angst and in the case of the second drawing, depression. The first drawing shows the girl recalling both the good and bad memories of her past, while the second drawing shows a different girl falling which represents her being overwhelmed by all the bad things that happened to her life. The second drawing hits me the most as the drawing reflects how life is sometimes like for me at home, where my parents would burden me with so many responsibilities, have high expectations for me when it comes to my grades, and are quick to lecture me when I make a mistake. Sometimes life at home can be too overwhelming and stressful that I just want to fall into a hole and escape to a different world, free from all of my problems.
