After being stumped with art block and other personal matters, I was able to prop myself back up and take a different approach to my art project. Rather than focusing on the idea of traveling to an alternate universe for my original characters, I decide to incorporate my characters in modern updates of folktales, incorporating them with elements of teen angst, depression and escapism. One of the drawings I did was based off of a scene of Little Red Riding Hood, where the wolf follows Little Riding Hood in the woods.

The drawing depicts a girl walking through the classroom hallway, unaware that she is being stalked by another male student. He would secretly follow her everywhere, from her school to her house, and since he was also a teenager, pretended to be humble and shy just to take advantage of the girl's trust hoping that he could be with her. I was considering in making a comic panel where the boy stalks and follows the girl wherever the girl goes, similar to how the wolf spotted Red Riding Hood in the woods.

This is just one drawing, but other drawings are also currently in progress. One drawing will be based off Cinderella, another based on Hansel and Gretel, as well as one on Snow White. I also did two drawings which is based off of Alice in Wonderland in which while not a folktale, I was drawn to the part where Alice falls down the rabbit hole when chasing the white rabbit and decide to do 2 drawings based off of that scene, incorporating elements of escapism and depression in them.
